Batman Arkham Knight for PC released on June 23, 2015 had so many bugs and performance issues that publisher Warner Bros. had to stop its sale for an unknown duration until fixed. It's still not out for sale again but there's good news for players who already own the game. An "Interim" patch has been released that makes the game far better and fixes a lot of holes in its performance.
The new patch can be expected to do the following things:
- Reduced frame rate hitches
- Optimizations for system memory and VRAM usage
- Improved performance on all GPUs (requires the latest drivers)
- More Comprehensive In-Game Settings
- Fixed low resolution texture bugs
- Fixed hitches when running on mechanical hard drives (HDD)
The devs are also working on further performance optimizations and will be bringing about the following in future patches:
- Adding support for SLI and Crossfire
- Adding support for the latest DLC & Season Pass content
- Adding support for additional updates such as Photo Mode
- Continued improvements and bug fixing for a Windows 7 specific memory issue that occurs on configurations with 8GB of system RAM and some NVIDIA GPUs during extended game play
- Continued improvements for Windows 10 specific issues on systems with some AMD GPUs
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and invaluable feedback. We'll provide ongoing updates here as they are made available. In the meantime, please enjoy the game with the latest patch.
— Warner Bros. on Steam
Rocksteady Studios promised a patch for PC version in August which never came. This patch solves a lot of the issues despite which the game is still off sales.
The previous night a test patch was released but was pulled shortly after. People who opted for the beta testing of this post received this patch and reported that the game ran much smoother and had better performance. The new patch was then properly released.
Update: For all those PC Bat fans seriously pissed off with the ongoing delay of an official 'promised' patch from Warner Bros, here's a piece of good news that can momentarily light up your hopes. In one of the recent posts on Steam, Warner Bros has stated that the official additional updates which were promised to be released to make the game playable on PC are currently under continuous work by their teams and they are expecting to restart their PC sales by October end.
Heads Up
Batman Arkham Knight PC will be available for PCs by the end of October. Stay tuned for more updates and news on the PC release date.
